Do I Look Fat In This Stress? Part 2

Let’s start with our thoughts. Scientist have found that our thought create proteins in the frontal lobe of our brain. Stressful thoughts create unstable proteins and each time we return to those stressors, chemicals are released into our bodies. One of those stress chemicals is cortisol.
Like I said yesterday, cortisol has it’s purposes, but prolonged stress response is detrimental to our health and well being.

The good news is that our optimistic, positive thoughts create stable proteins in the frontal lobe of our brains. Each time we return to those thoughts, they also excrete chemicals into our body. Endorphins that boost our mood shower us.

One of those chemicals is called dopamine. When dopamine floods our system, all of the learning centers of our brain are turned on. The learning center for memory, for accuracy, for creativity, for
athletic ability, for comprehension and many more.

When these learning centers are activated, studies done by Harvard and Shawn Achor have found that we can function with 31% more productivity! WOW!
We also know that our metabolic system and assimilation can improve anywhere from 40-60% when we are in Relaxation Response rather than Stress Response.

Can you see how important is is for us? So how do we Shift from Stress Response to Relaxation Response?

It all begins with our thoughts. Are you aware of what you are thinking?

An easy way to become aware is to do a thought download.  Just write everything.  It can be phrases, words, questions or sentences.

Our human brain has 60,000 thoughts every day.  Let's start supervising those thoughts.  Let's just notice them.

In the next post we will learn to view our thoughts from a different perspective.
