Slim Down and Build Up

Image
Slim Down and Build Up What would you do if you found a Daily Devotional that helped you by building you up in the Lord and  helped you slim down?   That is exactly what I have created.   This is my job, and I love it:  Therefore encourage and build one another up, just as you are already doing.- 1 Thes. 5:11 Do you need encouragement? I have found in my clients, that the solutions for changes they desire - slimming down, getting organized, managing their homes...- start with their thoughts.   When we understand that the results we have are proof of the thoughts we are thinking,  we can begin to create renewing thoughts.  Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God. - Romans 12:2 Join me and a beautiful Tribe of Women who are Winning the Battle Between Your Ears. We encourage e...

It's Never Too Late for a New Beginning

Image
It's Never Too Late for a  New Beginning Who of us is not in need of a new beginning as we journey through this life? Did you know that every new beginning has two parts?  The first is to decide to let go.... Let go of the past ways of thinking that keep you stick. Let go of the all or nothing mentality Let go of the perfectionism Let go of looking for some miracle eating plan, pill or shake.  Let go of quitting on yourself. Let go of beating yourself up. Doesn't that sound incredible? Are you willing? I can help you leave these behind The second part is to decide to create.... Create awareness without judgement Create forward momentum. Create realistic plans. Create follow-through. Create confidence. Create self-esteem. Create new beginnings .   I have the privilege  of watching my clients create new beginnings for themselves in many areas when they create new beginnings in the area of nour...

Do You Want What you Want....OR.....Do You Want What You Value?

Image
Do You Want What you Want.... OR..... Do You Want What You Value? That is an excellent question!  We can ask ourselves that question many times a day. We can ask ourselves that when we are deciding if we are going to watch TV. We can ask ourselves that when we are in a conversation and our cellphone buzzes. We can ask ourselves that when we are deciding to get seven hours of sleep. We can ask ourselves that before we eat a snack.   Sometimes it seems that food has so much power over us,  but all it takes is a good question to supervise our thoughts about food. What do you value?  If you are reading this blog, there is a good chance that you value your well being, you value your time and you value your standing as a child of God. Use your pre-frontal cortex ( the part of us mad in the image of God) to slow down in your decision making.  Think about what you value.   The things you value create your compellin...

What If We Started Acting Like We Know We Are Loved?

Image
What If We Started Acting Like We Know We Are Loved? Isn't that an interesting question?  What would it look like? What would it sound like? What difference would it make as we choose our thoughts? For me, this made ALL the difference.  When I started trusting and believing what god says about me rather than what the voices in my head said about me,  everything started to change.   When I practiced believing Romans 5:8 - "I loved you at your darkest" , I started seeing myself, my circumstances and others through a totally different "lens".  I started treating myself with respect.   I started honoring commitments to myself a.k.a. I started having my own back. I stopped relying on other humans to provide validation and recognition.  I spoke differently to myself.  I began recognizing the value that was placed in me.  (I had nothing to do with them except recognize them) I practiced hand...

Can We Really Have Victory?

Image
Can We Really Have Victory? Before we can answer that question we need to know what victory is.   My dictionary defines it this way: Success in a struggle.  One thing I am learning is that success can come even before the circumstances change.  A question I learned from Graham Cooke: "Who does God want to be for me now that He couldn't be until this "struggle" happened?"  This question gives me a whole different perspective or "lens" to view my circumstances through.  When I choose to look through the lens of knowing I'm a beloved child of God and that I am never on my own, I find that the circumstances are neutral.  The reason this happens is because I have changed my interpretation of the circumstance.  I have shifted my thoughts about the circumstance.  But I thank God, who always leads us in victory because of Christ. -  2 Corinthians 2:14 Another helpful practice is realizing that the are no "great" vi...
