Fresh Perspective
Fresh Perspective
We can decide how we want to think about circumstances.
Wait!
What!?
One of the most significant learning opportunities I have had is when I saw the training of the Life Coach School and my studies of the Word of God lining up together.
I began seeing that my circumstances really are not what make me feel stressed or unhappy. It is my thoughts that create my feelings.
But what about the hurt and pain? What about the negatives in our world?
Am I supposed to just make up thoughts that create positive emotion all the time?
If we only experience positive emotion all of the time, would we even know it was positive?
Or, is the human experience here on earth supposed to be a balance of negative and positive emotions?
Is there a purpose in the negative that we will miss if we are always wanting to be happy all the time?
If we are willing to allow ourselves to feel negative, uncomfortable emotions, we can gain a fresh perspective.
Without buffering emotions and with intentionally allowing ourselves to actually feel all of them, we can live our lives as well as we can knowing that it includes a lot of contrast ON PURPOSE.
What can the negative contrast do for us? It can drive us into the arms of Jesus.
In my study on the Fruit of the Spirit, my clients and I discover that each fruit is an emotion that is created by our thoughts. Without the negative contrast, why would we even seek peace, or love, or self-control?
From a fresh perspective we can see that every discomfort has a provision "fruit" provided especially for us.
Jesus said, “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”- John 16:33
He said we will have trouble, but He also said He is how we overcome the world. Now that is a fresh perspective, looking toward Him instead of the trouble.
We can feel His gentleness and His self-control when we choose thoughts about Him.
If you struggle with eating your emotions, feeling overwhelmed by your circumstances and would like to see if Shifting Inside Out is a fit for you, I am offering a free mini session.
One simple mini session with me can completely change your mind about how you view yourself, your food, and your life.
